It's all
up to YOU
From this
day forward, your future is up to you.
Remember
three things:
1) Dumb
Luck counts
The harder you work, the luckier you get. After working harder
than most for year after year, you will gain results greater than most.
But they won't recognize your hard work. They will just say you
got lucky.
Understand that it takes 40 hours of work a week just to get by.
It takes more than
that to get ahead. And if you're not getting ahead, you're being
left behind.
2)
Education is critical
Our culture has the "vaccination view on education". We finish
high school or college
and say, "I got mine." Our culture settles for "just getting by"
when abundance takes
just a little bit more work. When you stop growing you start
perishing. There is no such
thing as "hanging in neutral". You are either going forward or
being passed up.
Understand that if you work at a job for 10 years and make it to
mid-management,
there is someone who just got out of school with more current knowledge
and
a hunger for your job.
Understand that there is only one reason you will ever have a job.....
...to make a profit for your employer. If you do not make a
profit, your employer
can't afford to pay you. It is your responsibility to stay ahead,
not fall behind.
Understand that reading is critical. Leaders are readers.
Reading exercises the part
of your brain used in problem solving. Problem solving, not
problem identifying, is
the key to success.
Understand that people/leadership skills determine your success.
Work on them.
Study. Read. Associate.
3)
The environment you live in is the environment you created.
Either care for your environment or shut up. Don't complain.
Don't blame.
Henry Ford said in 1917, "Don't find fault, find a remedy. Anyone
can complain."
The air is always clearer at the top. It is your responsibility to
get there. No one
can force you to become successful.
And if you really do care about the environment, do everything
you can. Then tell
others what you are doing. Show them how to do it. Watch
them do it. Then
celebrate in their success.
