Press Release
This is long, but important. The proposed
“Cap & Trade” tax is projected at $1,000 to $3,000 for every man, woman
and child in this Country.
Cap & Trade is embarrassing. Understandable,
but embarrassing.
Understandable because we now know that it is
politically correct to sign the largest spending bill in the history of
our Country without even reading it. And as a consequence, our elected
officials are irate over the AIG bonuses that they voted to allow. If
our elected officials can't read a spending bill, they will never
understand the U.N. IPCC Report (United Nations Intergovernmental Panel
on Climate Change). And what will those consequences be?
Embarrassing because our elected officials
didn't notice that 2008 was the coldest year in decades and 2009 is
colder. They haven't read that the Alaskan Glaciers gained 18" of
snowpack in 2008 and more in 2009, that Canada had a "white Christmas"
coast-to-coast for the first time in recorded history or that the
international record of cold days is approaching the record number of
hot days.
And, the “hot days” are more an indicator of
the “Heat Island Effect” than of climate change. Heat Island is more a
function of the sun’s radiant energy than of climate temperature. The
impact of the sun’s radiant energy increases with diminishing Greenhouse
Gasses, not increasing Greenhouse Gasses.
"But what about the Polar Ice Caps?"
The polar ice caps were never melting because of Greenhouse Gas. There
is little Greenhouse Gas at the poles. All Greenhouse Gas is in the
Troposphere. The Troposphere is 12 miles thick at the equator and zero
to 4 miles thick at the poles. During the summer, the oceans warm and
emit Greenhouse Gas, and the Troposphere is 4 miles thick. During the
winter, the oceans cool and "inhale" Greenhouse Gas and the Troposphere
at the poles is "indistinguishable". That's why the Northern Lights
during winter. And it happens every year.
"But the Polar Bears are going extinct!"
Doubtful. The Polar Bears made it through the Medieval Warm Period a
thousand years ago. During the Medieval Warm Period, Greenland was
Green and there were vineyards in the north of London. In fact, before
Al Gore, the Medieval Warm Period was described as "climate optimum",
the optimum climate for man.
"But glaciers are melting all over the world!"
Correct. The glaciers that were created during the "Little Ice Age" are
melting. The Little Ice Age followed the Medieval Warm Period. Five
major volcanoes spawned one of the worst periods in recorded history.
Glaciers wiped out entire villages in Europe. Starvation, disease and
death were rampant. The Black Plague
was most notable.
“Foreign oil is bad.”
Correct, again. But before you cripple our economy with alternative
fuels, understand the basic physics. Diesel has 138,000 BTUs of
energy per gallon, gas 125,000 BTUs, natural gas 90,000 BTUs, bio-fuel
80,000 BTUs and a car battery has 3,500 BTUs. Natural gas needs to sell
for 35% less than diesel to yield the same energy per dollar. For
Bio-fuel it’s 42% less. And it requires 40 car batteries to yield the
same energy as a gallon of diesel.
"We need to lead the world. China and India
don't matter." Maybe China and
India are not interested in complying to a Global Warming Treaty because
they read the U.N. IPCC Report. Their education results are better than
ours. Their space program is surpassing ours. Their economy is
stronger than ours.
If they read the U.N. IPCC Report, they know
that Report 1, page 114 states that they can't model clouds. When 95%
of Greenhouse Gas is water vapor, and you can't model clouds, what's the
relevance of modeling the other 5%?
"It is somewhat unsettling that the results
of a complex climate model can be so drastically altered by substituting
one reasonable cloud parametrization for another, thereby approximately
replicating the overall inter-model rage of sensitivities."
And page 118 states that they cannot even
gain consensus without modifying the input:
"Comparing different models is not sufficient,
however. Using multiple simulations from a single model (the so-called
Monte Carlo, or ensemble, approach) has proved a necessary and
complementary approach to assess the stochastic nature of the climate
system...These ensemble simulations clearly indicated that even with a
single model a large spread in the climate projections can be obtained."
Report 2 even states that 3 of the 4 Kyoto
Treaty Greenhouse Gasses are diminishing:
The global mean concentration of CH4 (Methane
Gas) in 2005 was 1,774 ppb, contributing an RF of +0.48 [±0.05] W m-2.
Over the past two decades, CH4 growth rates in the atmosphere have
generally decreased.
That's why it's so embarrassing to talk about
Cap & Trade and "carbon footprints". The only Kyoto Treaty Gas left to
attack is CO2, which is only .038% of our atmosphere. CO2 has increased
10% over the last 50 years. If all the increase is attributed to man,
that means that man is responsible for .0038% of the Greenhouse Gas.
That's like comparing a nickel to a thousand-dollar bill.
Additionally, CO2 has never been the cause of
Global Warming, only an indicator. In science, action precedes
reaction, cause precedes effect. Global Warming happens first, and then
CO2 levels increase. It's a simple concept to understand when you
realize that every year the oceans warm and create Greenhouse Gas, then
cool and inhale Greenhouse Gas. It is known as summer and winter.
Cap & Trade is understandable. Our
Government needs money. They are willing to "tax" energy production and
consumption. $365,000,000,000 (365 Billion) from “Cap & Trade”
translates into an energy tax of over $1,000 for every man, woman and
child in the Country. Our elected officials are willing to pass that
burden on to all of us with the greatest impact on the poor and middle
class. “Taxing business” makes a good sound bite, but only shows the
ignorance of our elected officials. Corporate and business taxes are
always passed on to the consumer as higher prices, making U.S. products
less competitive in a global market.
Cap & Trade is embarrassing. Selling a “fear
based tax” on false science either means that our elected officials are
"well intentioned idiots" or "just plain politicians".
What comes next for the Maniac is also
embarrassing. Sense the politicians can not refute the message, they
will attack the messenger.
Environmental Maniac Background:
The Maniac has been doing this for a long
time.
In 1972 he was a senior at U.C. Irvine and
Greenhouse Gas/Global Cooling was the fear. As he says, "he drank the
cool aide". So he built a car that met 1986 air pollution
requirements. That car may not seem that unique today, but 35 years
ago, it was radical.
In 1993 the Maniac created the best
multi-family recycling program in California. He says it was a business
decision. He was the maintenance man for 241 condos and it made good
business sense that if he could divert half the garbage through
recycling, the complex would save half on their garbage bill. That was
a $25,000/year savings. That answered the critical question. If you
are trying to change human behavior, the critical question is, "What's
in it for me?" In this case, the answer was $10/month in home-owner
dues. The Maniac says that recycling enough newspaper and cardboard to
save 50,000 trees was just a side effect.
Over the last 3 years the Maniac has reduced
his air conditioning cost by 50% through two new inventions. (www.EvAAC®.com
&
www.dualplaneattics.com) He lives south-west of Phoenix so that's a
big savings. In fact, he is saving $900/year from reducing his
electrical demand by 7,000 kWh a year. That's the energy equivalent to
4 barrels of oil.
The Maniac is involved with the "Olsen
House", a Beazer home being reconstructed with his new technologies and
more. The goal is more than getting the home off the grid. The goal is
to keep the home off the grid during summer and feed the grid during
winter.
And one more. The Maniac is involved with
the HyBoFuel Project. HyBoFuel is Hydrogen Boosted Fuel. A very
sophisticated electrolysis process that creates "Hydrocracking" in the
intake of your car, truck or generator. Their test truck is a ¾ ton
Chevy, four door, short bed pickup. The emissions are practically zero,
the mileage at 75 mph is 24 mpg.
One of the Maniac’s goals is to save the
energy equivalent to 20,000,000 barrels of oil a year by the end of
2013…and that’s just in Arizona.
The Maniac's biggest problem, there is no
such thing as money. All his research and development is self funded.
The Maniac says, “The promised Federal money is for the "Good-Old-Boys"
and those that drank the Greenhouse Gas/Global Warming cool aide. I
drank the Greenhouse Gas/Global Cooling cool aide and it's immunized me
from the Global Warming Fears."
Beliefs
1) Before you follow anyone’s advice, make
sure they are where you want to be. Because if you follow their advice,
you will be where they are. “You may have a PHD in Aviation, but I’m
not going flying with you unless you’ve logged a bunch of hours.”
2) If there’s no “R” it’s not an Investment,
it’s an Expense. ROI means Return On Investment. Repairing “bridges to
nowhere” is not an investment, its differed maintenance.
3) Complaining, criticizing and finding fault
are never a sign of leadership. Complaining, criticizing and finding
fault only require looking backwards. Leadership requires looking
forward. Leadership requires creating. Creating is just like building
a jig-saw puzzle. Only there’s no picture on the lid of the box because
it hasn’t been built yet and there’s no pre-cut pieces.
