Cap and Trade is not
American Arrogance...the European Nation is also
involved.
Everyone agrees that Cap
and Trade will do little good without the participation
of India and China. The 'Cap and Traders' believe
that the critics are dooming the world because of
economical self interests. They direct that belief
at China, India and anyone else that disagrees with the
need to stop carbon output.
The truth is that Climate
Change is a multi-billion dollar, politically correct,
international industry. It is partly motivated by
belief, but mostly money.
The challenge with
debating a belief is that facts won't change it.
Beliefs, like faiths, are not based on facts. They
stem from deep-seated emotions. America, at least,
has become a Nation of emotions. Emotions are
easier to manipulate than science, especially when there
is a lack of understanding of science.
Throughout history,
evolving man was controlled by beliefs. When those
beliefs were confronted by science, the science was
deemed evil.
There is no argument that
the earth has been worming since the end of the Little
Ice Age. The Little Ice Age was an anomaly caused
by 5 volcanoes in a 10 year period.
The argument is whether
or not man is responsible.
What is fact is that
there has been no warming for the last decade and we are
probably in a cooling trend (New York Times, 9/21/'09).
That the rate of growth of greenhouse gasses has been
diminishing for the last decade and in some cases
turning negative (U.N. IPCC Report, Report 2, page 142).
Or the fact that CO2 has never been the cause of global
warming, only an indicator (overlay the graphs and
observe that our Earth's temp peaks before CO2's peak).
If our climate is
changing without any legislation restricting man, then
man's influence is not as great as natures.
Period.
Thinking that China,
India and all the other dissenters are greedy or
ignorant, that's arrogant.
