The Polar Ice Caps are
not melting because of greenhouse gas.
Greenhouse gas is not
evenly distributed around our planet. All greenhouse
gas is in the Troposphere. The Troposphere is 12 miles
thick at the equator and 0 to 4 miles thick at the
poles. Every summer, the oceans warm and ‘exhale’
greenhouse gas. The Troposphere becomes 4 miles thick at
the poles. Every winter, the oceans cool and ‘inhale’
greenhouse gas and the Troposphere becomes
indistinguishable, the Stratosphere drops down and there
are Northern Lights. Every year our planet ‘breaths’ to
compensate for temperature
Now add the sun. When
the sun ‘belches’, the oceans warm and ‘exhale’
greenhouse gas to protect the planet (that includes
us). When the sun mellows, the oceans cool, the
oceans inhale greenhouse gas, so we don’t
freeze.
Our planet has been
‘breathing’ for thousands of years and warming for
hundreds.
"But the Polar Bears are going extinct!"
Doubtful. The Polar Bears made it through the Medieval Warm Period a
thousand years ago. During the Medieval Warm Period, Greenland was
Green and there were vineyards in the north of London. In fact, before
Al Gore, the Medieval Warm Period was described as "climate optimum",
the optimum climate for man.
"But glaciers are melting all over the world!"
Correct. Some glaciers that were created during the "Little Ice Age" are
melting. The Little Ice Age followed the Medieval Warm Period. Five
major volcanoes spawned one of the worst periods in recorded history.
Glaciers wiped out entire villages in Europe. Starvation, disease and
death were rampant. The Black Plague was most notable.
Americans may remember the drawings of George Washington crossing the
Delaware River that was frozen over.
But some glaciers are not
melting. The Mendenhall Glacier in Alaska and Mt.
Shasta in California are have been gaining year-around
snow pack since 2008.
But the world is going
to flood! Doubtful. Did the world flood
during the Medieval Warm Period? What were the
coastal water levels then?
Man can not stop any acts of nature. We cannot
stop hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis or the Polar Ice
Caps from melting. Sorry. |
